1) She searched for the voices of her grandmother because she wanted to know who and where she belonged to. She had known that there were Indians in the family histroy, and she wanted to know who it was and if she belonged to one. I don't believe my family has ever tried to uncover their past to figure things out. However, we have a book of our family and its history for the Combres's. I'd like to know more about my ancestry.
2) I think that Christine Welsh should not try and hide her native heritage. It's who she is and she should be happy to have a culture that has lots of trades. Christine should not be ashamed of her culture.
3) I think that she tried to hide that she was Indian because she was different than the other's at school. which she shouldn't be because it's who she is and there is nothing to be ashamed of by being an Indian.
My grandparents and I have a real good relationship. My dad's parents only live a couple miles away from me, so I am closer to them than my other grandmother. Marj and Arnold Combres are real great grandparents. My grandma is always spoiling me and the other grandchildren. I've grown up with them. I am always over there, whether it's to visit with my cousins, or just to visit with my grandma and grandpa. They are very nice people, and couldn't be more caring. I love them!!
However, when I was little my family and I would always go to Kelowna to visit my other grandparents, Victor and Maria Prescesky. It was always fun, but it sucked cause they lived so far away from us and we barely seen them. But when they moved back to North Battleford, Saskatchewan, I got closer to them. But still not like how I would of liked it. When my grandpa past away, everyone was devistated. But life went on. My grandma travels alot everywhere. Even though she lives only like half hour away from my family, we didn't see her as much. But she is always in our thoughts.
