Analogy - Allie

English Analogy
Zebra and Lion School - By Allie Ferris-Nichol

In a crazy safari jungle there was a school, a school of lions. The crazy thing about this school is that the teachers were zebras. Why is this so crazy? Well lions do tend to have dominance over zebras. Not only this, but zebras need to learn different things than lions do.

Out in the safari there are many groups of animals. They all paired together to make their own schools. BUT, there were not enough zebras and lions so they had to join together. Every day (five days a week) from nine to three, there was great chaos. No kids really like school, and since lions had so much power over zebras, the students really liked to torment the teachers.

Day to day teacher zebras were wounded with great claw marks going down their sides. They were chased around at recesses as a game. The zebras were teased daily by the lions. The lions thought of school as a joke, and zebras thought of it as their death.

Not only was it dangerous for the teacher zebras, but they really had no idea what to try to teach the lions. The lions were so crazy and out of control that the zebras doubted they would ever listen even if they did find something to teach the,. What lion would REALLY listen to a zebra? Lions needed to learn about hunting and surviving, but zebras knew nothing of this. The Zebra and Lion School was disastrous.

The zebras complained to the Safari Government, and so did the lions parents. The zebras were being tortured and tormented and the lions weren’t learning anything. Eventually the Safari Government grouped zebras together and lions together. This worked much better for everyone. The safari was back to its normal balance!
