It was from Christine’s families need to hide their nationality and her own curiosity to uncover her past from where she came from. I kind of want to know where I came from but I don’t really have a need to do it. I guess it’s not that big of deal for me to find where I came from. There are very few things I’d like to know about my ancestors but if I could I’d like to see how they celebrate Ukrainian Christmas.

I think she kept her Native heritage a secret in order to survive (even if it was bullying). I believe that no matter what nationality you are you should be proud of it. The country wives were treated poorly because they were used for cooking and cleaning the men.
Yes I agree with Christine’s denial of her heritage, because I would do the same so survive. She did this because she been an out cast in her school and with her social life.

I have not discovered anything new about me heritage other than I come from Ukraine and I’m part Ukrainian and German. I really don’t care to know about my heritage.
